2nd Sustained InvestigationThis is my second piece in my Sustained Investigation. My thinking in this was how nature has a beautiful side, but if someone is not careful with their surroundings or has no thought in preserving the land. The land itself can turn to something very displeasing for everyone, making everyone quite sad and depressed. I went with "How People Affect Nature?" in this circumstance. The materials that I used were dual watercolor markers. The reason behind this piece is because I wanted to make a illustration of what good nature is when it is preserved right, but if it isn't (the fire kind of hints to the right side) nature turns for the worst. It turns gloomy, sad, depressing, and inhabitable for all life, and overall, just makes it look not pleasant and comforting like how nature is supposed to be portrayed. It shows that if someone is reckless with their surroundings it can make everyone sad.

ReflectionOverall, I am pretty happy with how it turned out! I have never really messed around with watercolor markers. I have used watercolors when I was really young but I mainly liked to use pencils and colored pencils. But, I wanted to try something different by using these markers, which was pretty fun, the blending was so smooth and very easy to do. I forgot to take my process photos, so I would definitely try to be better at taking them. The Strengths: The trees are what I am proud of in the background, the little details were fun and fit well in the piece. The Weaknesses: I did try with the blending on a lot in this project, but maybe try and blend the colors so that they look more smooth. And add more details on the right side of the piece.
